What is the weather like in your area? Here is it cold, had just a light drop of snow, and this weekend sounds like maybe it could be nasty. Urgh! I sooo wish I lived some where warmer so that I could get out more to do some thrifting, and finding things. I have been putting a few more pieces together at home with what I have here in my "stash" Soon I would like to also get some other things to work on as well. Plus, I enjoy the fun of thrifting, and searching for pieces too. 

Christmas will soon be here. Is everyone ready for it? I did the decorations outside, and inside our home by myself this year. I just took my time doing it, and got it done. Not completely where I wanted it to be, but it is definitely better than what I had done last year which was nothing. So, anything is better than nothing right?

Next week family will start coming home for the holidays, and we are going to celebrate christmas about 2 days earlier to help accommodate with all of the schedules for everyone. Our son is off to army basic training, and I will pick him up at the airport on Thursday. On Friday our daughter, and our grand baby will be leaving TX to come home for just a few days. My husband's sister will be here with her fiance along with my sister, and her family too. 

I have a mess in the house! I keep going through things, laying things out, boxing things up to donate, creating some pieces, clean my messes up, and then it happens again!...LOL:) Along with the messes I am working on making more room for everyone that will be here as well. So, much to do, and this weekend I have plans to get more of it done. My time is also starting to get shorter before everyone is here, and I need to get with it, and get her done!:)

Trick or Treat, and Happy Halloween to everyone in Blogland and who visits!

Thanks for stopping into Thrift Store Junkies page at LilacsNDreams. Where does the time go, and why does it go so fast sometimes too. The weather has changed, gotten cooler out, had rain, and of course unfortunately thrift shopping has slowed for me too. Time of year to get ready for holidays, and festivities. Putting the house back in order since we are not moving quite yet. Also, spending a little bit of time working with things I have at the house to repurpose, and upcycle too.

To see some of the items I have been doing you can visit my shop at Etsy for those items, and I also have been listing things at Ecrater too. Repurposed, upcycled, and some vintage collectibles too.

Hope that this finds everyone doing well, and ready for Halloween. Thinking of those on the east coast, and wishing them all well too. Hopefully things are ok for them over there who were all effected with hurricane Sandy.

Thrift Stores, Yard Sales, Flea Markets, and Junking too! No matter what season we are into there is always some digging to be done, right?

Hello, and Welcome Back to Thrift Store Junkies everyone. Glad to have you stopping by to visit. You know, I sometimes dread fall. I so enjoy summers, and warmer weather so that I can do more thrifting, and junking. I enjoy having the warmer weather to create in, and being able to paint a lil more too. Sometimes when fall comes I get a lil bit dreary with it. I know I should feel good about it as many do, and many have those creative juices flowing again too. But, I just cannot feel alive with it as I can spring, and summer time. Oh, well, such is life, right?

So, what has everyone been up to? My schedules have been way off for quite some time now. Dealing with our car hubby got me last year, the service techs, the service manager, and now with GM. Finally someone believes me there is something wrong, and I have some mechanics who are having issues finding the problem they are hearing too. 

Hubby is back home, and has changed our plans of moving. I was looking forward to heading south, but he is in love with the house again from remodeling that has been done. So, when the hubs is home my schedule is way off again too. 

Things shall soon calm that I can work on my listings again, putting some things together, and then finding a way that I can still paint some small projects for during the winter months too. The house will calm, and I can then work on my long over due scrapbooking as well too. Table is set up in the spare room for this, scrapbook papers are there in reach, containers with embellishments need to be better organized, but that is also coming together as well.

Welcome to Thrift Store Junkies, and glad to see you all here. Don't you just love thrifting? You never know what you might find. Some days when I am not in the mood to thrift I will still stop some where. After walking in the store, looking around a little bit, I start to walk around the store more too. It does not take me long, and I can feel the mood changing to becoming interested in some pieces, and wanting to look more. These 3 pictures are items I had found on different occasions while thrifting by myself, or with a friend too. I enjoy looking at everything being offered, but also am selective with pieces I have chosen to bring home too. Many of the pieces I can find in really good condition, and some are like new too!

Hope ya'll had a super Labor Day Weekend! Did you get any shopping done with some unforseen treasures? I didn't do any shopping this past weekend. I have enough pieces here to keep me busy for a while actually. Right now I have some pieces glued, drying, and another piece I am adding some lace too.

Thrift Store Yard Sales Tag Sales and Junkin, oh what fun it is!

Hello, and Welcome to Thrift Store Junkies everyone. Glad to have you stopping by to visit. I have been MIA again, and I apologize for that. I work to keep up the main page of my blog LilacsNDreams along with working on LilacsNDreams Shoppe page too. 

That time of year I have been itching for, and I am sure some of you as well have had this feeling too. When the weather is nice, and we can get out to do some descent thrifting, and hitting some of them yard sales. I haven't done a whole lot myself. Just a little bit here, and there. Sometimes I do stop to look, but just don't see anything of interest either. Sometimes is depressing...especially if you are really in the mood to go diggin, and find something. But, that is ok. I have plenty at home to work with, clean up, repurpose with, etc. Yeah, I have a few things here to stay busy with yet so I can get them listed with different internet shops I have. Yes, I will make sure to share here also with all of you:)

What you see pictured above is what came from the last sale I attended. I love the vintage scale I found, adore the wooden hangers found...got some ideas for my walls with these, and as you can see a few other little goodies too. In this area some of the prices on these certain sales are something else! Some items will maybe have a price of what it sold on ebay....which means that will not happen all the time. Sometimes they use a book to mark a price which when items are resold on ebay, and such they generally will sell for 1/2 of what the book is, and just different things like that. Then, once in a while I can get lucky, and find a sale where they are honestly cleaning out their house, and trying to rid of the extra to make room, or are moving, or something like that. I can really have fun with those looking, and filling my arms with all kinds of goodies found:)

Well, I was taking a quick break from dusting upstairs, and trying to figure some things out. Waiting on a plumber, and contractor....story of my life past few months. Hello Thrifters, and glad to have you visiting Thrift Store Junkies page. Sorry sorry sorry....I have been a bit behind with some of my blog pages, and I apologize for that. Ever since the computer did it's thing couple weeks ago I am still catching up on some things. For items I offer for sale I have had to pull things back out, and do pictures all over again. I thought I was ahead by doing some of the pictures, putting them into the files for the shops I wanted to list with, and then boom! Just like that they have gone off to another place I cannot find them/get to them:( 

Anyway, I have been itching really bad to get some thrifting done. I have been a very very good girl not doing any thrifting, or hardly any of it to speak of. I figured I don't have the room, still got a lil bit of painting to finish, I need more room to craft with, and.....since I have to pack eventually I figured it was all good that I try to hold off. Well....the thrifting fever with the weather, and all has hit me. I stopped at one place called the Missions place my bestest friend introduced me to. I found some little glass pieces to add with things I have at home, and hopefully finish off those being waited to complete. I walked out with 2 envelope boxes, and 2 bags full as you can see. I spent what...$10? for all of it, and have been happy with what I can do with them now too. It is hard to see, but off to the right side I did find a kenneth cole leather planner that is in a like new condition for $1, and that wooden piece you see that resembles a shutter...is actually a wooden vent. Very good condition, and I see possibilities...how about you?:)

Hello everyone, and welcome back to Thrift Store Junkies! I wanted to drop a little note to you all. When you are out roaming the internet this weekend stop by to see some of the inventory I have slowly been adding that I have found from Thrifting. At Ecrater I just listed some vintage blue glass birds figurines paper weights, an adorable pink stoneware creamer and sugar bowl set, and some other little treasures too. Visit to see the pictures, and the details of the different items too. 

Any big plans for the weekend? Nothing real exciting here. I have thought about hitting the next town over, and maybe checking out some items in her store. Or, maybe heading into good will at another town too. Wake up, and see where the day takes me, right?:)

Welcome to Thrift Store Junkies all Collectors, Junkers, Thrifters, and Hunters of Treasures! 

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and was able to do some thrifting too. I wish I could have - long story, but I had some computer issues, and would not let it go till I got something worked out I could handle, or live with. 

Before I forget I would like to mention about a little social group I found that is slowly growing, I have joined with under the name of LilacsNDreams of course, and has a neat idea they are working with too. Vintage Rising - Giving Pieces of the Past a Brand New Life. This group started out with other sellers, and collectors showing some of their vintage pieces that they repurpose, and upcycle. There are those there who offer some vintage supplies too. Since they started they have added in another category that I find quite fun, and enjoyable which is called Thrift Store Alley. How neat is that? With this category you can show your finds of Thrift Stores whether they be used, or almost new too. Fabulous idea, and concept that is growing, and for others to go to. 

Remember, it is still young, but I have been slowly watching it grow. I think you should stop by to give it a look, and better yet join up to participate with them too. Share a little bit, learn a little bit, make some new friends, and have some fun too.

Happy Thrifting Tuesday Bloggers and Blogland! Ok, we got through the weekend, and can't wait for it to happen again. Till then the week will seem like an eternity before Friday is here. Soooo....a Thriftin we shall go!


Any thrifting this weekend? Let's see Monday a horrid day too...is now done. We are getting out doing things again, so has anyone done any thrifting today? I am home attempting to work on our property getting it mowed. Battery went bad this weekend. Early start to Monday with car into car dealer, picked up rental, and on way home was gonna do some thriftin...but did not get that done. Hopefully when I go back up there this week I will take some time to hit a couple of stores I like to shop with. 


Salvation Army, and St Vincents are a couple of stores I do not mind shopping at. Their prices are still fairly reasonable, and I can usually find pieces to either offer for resale, or better yet to repurpose with! I have a picture in mind of a piece I would like to make....before summer gets over with. So far have not found a piece I have in mind. Hopefully I can find something to work with this week yet. I will show pics later, and let ya know what it is when I can get there with it. 


I know, it is just Tuesday, and you are asking if it is Friday yet. Hang in there! It will soon be here. Hey, at least it is not Monday anymore...LOL:)

Welcome to Thrift Store Junkies for LilacsNDreams. So, how was your memorial weekend? Did you enjoy it all, and was it all you wanted it to be? Did anyone find any good sales with some wonderful treasures found. 

I had been out on Friday of the weekend, and stopped with a couple of places. One yard sale, and a big rummage sale too. But, needless to say I did not find anything to catch my eye, and say buy me, buy me. It happens sometimes. But, it was a descent day out then, and I was able to get my fix of thrifting going into the weekend. Weather is much better today, and would be a great day to go digging. Might not be able to with schedules of things today. Where there is a will, there is a way, and hopefully I can squeeze in some thrifting time some where. Otherwise maybe tomorrow too. Whole day to myself, no running around, no chasing anyone around, and.......Hmmmm....see what it brings for me.

Thrift Stores Yard Sales Flea Markets and Junking

Thrift Stores, Yard Sales, Flea Markets, and Junking too! Love this time of year, the weather is right to get out there, and to go treasure hunting! Welcome to Thrift Store Junkies page at LilacsNDreams.  By the way, I have been known to curb hop for treasures, and once in a while have my feet hanging from a dumpster seeing something I have to have, or see possibilities with too.

I have not been out thrifting yet, and it has been bothering me too! I honestly don't have the room for it at this time. Heck, I have a bedroom I am trying to figure out where to put everything in it to make some room so I can get around it, and paint the walls in there.....Long story everyone. I just talked with a contractor, and hopefully I have come up with some kind of an idea to make some room to do this...crossing fingers. 

Anyway, I will share a few pictures of one of my last times I was able to go thrifting. I did not find much...gotta be in the right mood to shop too, ya know:) I generally do find glass pieces I can use in some way in the home, or to reuse and repurpose with too. I do know there are one, or is it 2 pieces in these pictures that I have completed items with by repurposing them...what fun! I will have to dig for those after shots for ya to see:)

Holiday Weekend is about 1/2 where here. Any big plans anyone? Not me. Just hanging around the house, and finish up with some painting...if I can. Maybe I can find it in me to finish a few projects I had started too. Just lazy days here:)

Hello, and Welcome back to Thrift Store Junkies! Here it is Sunday, and I am wondering...how was the weekend for you? Any good finds? Were you able to get to any thrift stores this weekend, or maybe even some garage sales too. Weather has been getting great here, and of course graduations all weekend long too! Busy, busy, busy. 

Next weekend is Memorial Weekend. Now, any plans for that weekend? I was wondering since it's a holiday if there were any good Flea Markets happening in your neck of the woods? I have to check before I say anything, but not real sure for around here. Would be a good weekend to do some digging, and getting around to a few places, don't you think? For those that travel even more fun!

Not too much happening here this weekend for me. Just family, and working on some more painting upstairs. If I keep going I might just get it done this week yet...wouldn't that be nice:) I have to figure out what to do with everything in the one bedroom...where to put it...so I can make the room to get in there, and paint. Whew! That one might be a chore.

Welcome again to Thrift Store Junkies page for LilacsNDreams everyone! Glad to have you back, and happy to see you passing by too. 

What a week it has been so far! I was gonna stop at a thrift store on the way home from appointments, but kept on going. I was tired...only about 3 hours of sleep last night. Not sure what the problem was, but I shall sleep good tonight. Thoughts and ideas hopefully will fill my dreams of some pieces I have sitting here that I want to repurpose with too. 

I have been thinking, not sure yet, just throwing some ideas around with Me mind...LOL:) I was thinking of maybe changing the name of this page. Nothing serious, still use Thrift in it, but shorter, or something a bit more catchy, or.....Hmmm....just not sure yet. Thought has crossed my mind. Since I have had to do a new blog I guess some other changes would come with it to, right?:)

Not much of any other kind of news...I am itching to go thrifting, and digging for some things. That time of year, and cabin fever has set in. Time to get out there, and go hunting!:) Hey, if you would happen to have any ideas of another name for this page, if maybe I should change the name, or maybe think of some words I can play around with too. I am open to suggestions:)

Thrift Store Junkies New Blogger Page at LilacsNDreams

Hello, and once again Welcome to Thrift Store Junkies new page with LilacsNDreams! First of all, I would like to again apologize for any inconvenience this has been for anyone who has been following with me. I feel really bad about this, and have spent all day working on getting my blog back up, and running. Unfortunately, everything prior to this has been lost. I have tried contacting with Google to fix this issue, but there is just no straight forward way of doing that. You have to leave questions out in the open, and hope that someone comes along to answer. I would like to have them review this issue of what happened, and reinstate my previous blogs as I have had those for a lil over 3 years, and really did work with them. 

Anyway, so far it does not look promising with that. So, instead of sitting around and waiting for an answer, or having my questions answered I have gone back into blogland, and am starting everything all over again. I know a little bit more this time, have seen things along the way, and hopefully it can help me get my standing back up quicker than what I did before. If you see some of my posts being repeated....again I am sorry. I will be going back through notes, and having to do some things again.
